Expert Q&A

I love to play softball. Now, though, I'm expecting a baby the first week or so of next June, almost the end of softball season for the local church league. So I'm wondering if it's likely that I could play, even a little, or should I get over that now?
There are a lot of other forms of exercise that are perfectly safe to do with far more fitness benefits than softball, without the danger of getting hit by a ball, or getting run into and knocked down. It's been recommended by the medical community that during pregnancy, we sustain from sports or activities that risk injury to the baby either by falling or getting hit. Softball has those risks. You would need to personally weigh the risks versus the benefits based on your level of participation, etc.
