If you exercise the Kegel muscles every day, how long would it take to see results? Are there any other methods that work?
Kegel exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, which in turn support the pelvic organs. Weak pelvic floor muscles can increase bladder control problems as well as a host of other problems with pelvic floor function. Kegel exercises target the pelvic floor muscle group and help to improve the strength and function of these muscles. Improvement in muscle strength is dependent upon several factors such as initial muscle tone, injury to the pelvic area from birthing and age and number of births. For most women who start performing Kegel exercises every day, there is an improvement within two to three months. If you are not noticing any improvement consult with your healthcare provider -- here are treatments available that may help you speed your pelvic floor recovery.
