Post-Childbirth Abs
You Can Get Them Back!
By C.J. Johnson
Colleen Rush, a member of the U.S. Skeleton Team, echoes Ellis' thoughts. "For ab-specific definition, nothing beats hanging crunches," Rush says. "Try it with a 10-pound dumbbell between your ankles for even better results."
Tamilee Webb is the world-famous goddess of toned abs because of her video series Abs of Steel. She recommends that women focus on exercises to make the lower abs contract. "Lift your legs and hips up off the floor toward the upper body while doing crunches," she says. "That will contract the lower rectus abdominals."

A Look at Ab Equipment
According to professional trainers, some abdominal equipment is better than others. First up is The Total Gym. According to Ellis, it is the only piece of exercise equipment worth purchasing. This system offers training possibilities for a full body workout that puts the larger muscle groups, including abs, to the test. <>Webb has her own views on what equipment works best for sculpting abs. After years of instructing and motivating, she designed her own ab machine. Webb claims her creation, Ab Away Pro, is ideal for firming stomachs. "Because it works upper, lower and side abs, it offers the best workout," she says. She also believes that several versions of ab rollers are beneficial because they focus physical movement on abdominal muscles and flex, and medicine balls are great for strengthening side and center muscle groups.
