Mall Walking
Not Just for Shoppers Anymore

The Positives
Mall walking can be a great choice when you're pregnant. You don't have to worry about being hit by cars or walking when it's dark outside, navigating cracked sidewalks or crossing busy streets. Not only that, if you join a walking club, you'll have plenty of company to keep you motivated.
Other benefits include the following:
- Being out of the weather. Inside a climate-controlled mall, you can dress comfortably and not worry about rain, snow, wind, cold or heat.
- Being away from the traffic. You don't have to worry about busy intersections, broken glass, aggressive animals, overgrown bushes, exhaust fumes or rush hour.
- It's safe. You can walk with other people and there's always mall security around.
- Easy access to restrooms, water and food and a place to sit down if you need to.
- Many malls open early so you can get your workout in before your day gets too crazy.
- After you have the baby, what better place to take your little one for a little exercise? There's plenty of space and a smooth surface for the stroller.
Things to Consider
Even with the benefits of mall walking, there are always drawbacks. The downside of mall walking may include the following:
