A Joint Effort
Keeping Fit as a Couple While Expecting
By Catherine Cram
Remember with all these exercises to allow the pregnant partner to set the pace. Don't force a stretch and encourage each other to breathe properly with each exercise – exhaling as you stretch, inhaling as you relax. If either person has difficulty reaching during a stretch, each partner can grasp the ends of a towel between each other to make it easier to span the distance.
Be mindful that this time together is perfect for bonding with each other, providing gentle touch and closeness. It's also a great way for a partner to better understand the physical changes that pregnancy is putting on his mate and find ways to help her feel comfortable and nurtured.
